BOOT:

- At boot the Free Edition will check for updates.

 

CHARTING:

- Technical indicators are not auto-scaled to fit in the panes. In order to ensure reproducible back

testing and proper use of bands, technical indicators should not be auto-scaled during

automated trading. Technical indicators may print out-side the panes on change of timeframe.

- The size of the technical indicator can be adjusted by the "Mult" button in the Technical

Indicators Window.

 

TWS EDEMO:

- You do not need to hold an account with any broker or bank to back-test with TickTrader.

- Historical tick data is free for licensed users.

- The Free Edition does not include back-testing, and is limited to two charts, and one Criteria Page.

- TickTrader uses the platform TWS from www.interactivebrokers.com for data feed and

execution.

- If you do not have an account with Interactive brokers, a free version of TWS can be used,

however using delayed and partial data feed.

- Important: You can not backfill with edemo, backfilling may show horizontal bars.

TWS: Username=edemo , password=demouser

 

TWS LIVE TRADING, using live data feed:

- In order to use TWS with live data feed, you must have an account with IB.

- Please note: If you open an account with Interactive Brokers, it may take two weeks to get

approved. If you use the TickTrader Referral Code 76472,

this process may only take a few days.

 

TWS SIMULATED TRADING, using live data feed:

- You can sign up for a simulated account at www.interactivebrokers.com for paper-trading.

- Simulated trading is essential in order to forward test potential algorithms and strategies.

- You should never attempt to live trade an algorithm without prior forward testing.
